ED conducts raids over appointment of fake director in Jute mill at Ballygunge

• The ED conducts raids at Sankrail Delta Jute Mill and related locations over allegations of a fake director appointment and unpaid PF amounting to Tk 21 crore.
• ED began searches at the house of the jute mill owner at Ballygunge named Sunil Jhunjhunwala
• Earlier, the retired jute mill workers complained of non-payment of PF money, ED's investigation has started on the basis of that complaint

On Tuesday morning, the ED conducted raids at three locations in the city, deploying central forces as part of its investigation into alleged corruption. Searches were initiated at Sankrail Delta Jute Mill, the residence of its owner in Ballygunge, and the mill's office on Council House Street. These actions come after complaints from retired workers regarding unpaid provident fund (PF) amounting to  21 crore, prompting the ED to launch an investigation into the matter.

In case of appointment of fake director in Jutmill, ED has been arrested at several places in the city. ED's attack in the case of appointment of fake director at Deltajut in Howrah's Sankrail. In one instance, the ED initiated searches at the residence of the jute mill owner in Ballygunge, Sunil Jhunjhunwala at 2/1 Bright Street.
